In this season of the holiday hustle and bustle, full of scheduling and preparing and checking to-dos off your list, it’s hard to find the space for gratitude and thanksgiving. For me, it feels like every possible moment is full. Sometimes it’s hard enough to take time to go for a walk or sit down for a nutritious lunch. 
 
But if you don’t put boundaries in place with your schedule, it will overtake you. It’s easy for the enemy to push, push, push … until we’re so busy we can’t remember the last time we had a conversation with God or read our Bible. 
 
With Thanksgiving this week, I’m reminded of the many blessings God has placed in my life. But often, I’m don't feel like I'm truly taking the time to pause the hurry and busy those blessings can create.
 
“Let them give thanks to Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” – Psalm 107:8-9
 
We were not meant to rely on our own flesh. When it feels like it’s a race against the clock or the calendar, the picture of Jesus feeding the 5,000 comes to mind. Just in the way he provided for all who came to him, imagine what God can do with our time if we give it over to him to bless.
 
Making room to give thanks to the Lord and spend time with him will always fill your cup up more than crossing off all the various to-dos on your list. 
 
This Thanksgiving week, I’m challenging myself to pause with God each day, to bring him into the busyness and most of all, thank him for the unending blessings he’s given me.
